My antivirus detects the game client as malicious. Why is this?

The game clients we provide for download have been modified from the original clients so that they can work with the Project Polygon website. As part of the modifications, we use VMProtect to help protect the game client. Antiviruses can't actually tell what's in the game client because VMProtect obfuscates it, so it's just assumed that it's malicious in some way. The only alterations made to the original game client are those done to make it work and to change the branding, with nothing malicious whatsoever. If you still have any doubts, you're free to run it in a sandbox or virtual machine.

The launcher doesn't open / "This file does not have an app associated for it" / "Application not found"

In this case, the launcher and/or client has been deleted by your antivirus. What you should do is add an exception for the Project Polygon folder located at %LOCALAPPDATA%\Project Polygon in your antivirus, and restore the quarantined Project Polygon programs. If you don't know how, Google has the answer.

If you're unable to restore from quarantine, you can delete the %LOCALAPPDATA%\Project Polygon folder and reinstall.

"deployVersionedFile ... Error Code: 6"

The launcher is unable to download the files needed for the game client to run. Your antivirus/firewall is likely blocking the launcher from being able to access the setup website.

Launcher provides a blank error on starting

The client failed to launch, but the launcher is unable to retrieve the error. In this case, you're likely just missing one of the required Visual C++ redistributables. The links for both 2008 and 2015 are down below.

"The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect"

Install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable. You must install the x86 one!

"Cannot load file PolygonClientUtilities-blahblahblah.dll"

Install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable You must install the x86 one!
